• Acquired a gain of 23 percent more OR capacity through improved scheduling system and reduced case times in the fully utilized main OR
• Negotiated both increased block times and additional case volume with existing medical staff and new block times and case volume with new groups

Key Program Revisions

• Revised scheduling system to achieve accurate case start times, improved preference card utilization, and improved surgeon and anesthesia cooperation

Results

• Achieved a highly competitive and marketable ambulatory surgery plan
• Designed a surgical service product line plan for each campus. A variety of orthopedic programs were set as first priority and a substantial increase in orthopedic surgery volume was realized
• Designed a new surgical facility plan for each campus that replaced and significantly reduced cost of previous plan
